SBSGG | Fun and Baubles & a Giveaway!

We’re so excited to start our Small Business Saturday Gift Guide with none other than the lovely Fun and Baubles, an Etsy shop specializing in handmade and vintage treasures, from jewelry to home goods.

Meet Fun and Baubles
Fun and Baubles owner Ekatrina has always been an entrepreneur. In the first grade, she tried to convince her parents to let her open a fresh-squeezed OJ business, followed by a string of various ventures throughout her childhood. It wasn’t until high school that her sister introduced her to beading. Unfortunately, between high school, college, and then parenthood, she couldn’t afford to devote much time to her hobbies.

Then, one day, her mother found a jewelry set that she really loved, but felt was too over-priced. So rather than buy the set, she found the beads she needed to make it and asked Ekatrina to purchase some supplies from Etsy. She was fascinated! Despite temptation, she resisted starting her own shop for about a year, telling herself that she had other responsibilities to tend to. But once life settled down a bit, she finally opened up shop as a birthday gift to herself! (Now that’s an entrepreneur!)

Ekatrina keeps her supplies in small portable containers so that she can work on the couch, at the doctor’s office, at the kitchen table, or wherever else the mood strikes!

Ekatrina describes her personal style as a fusion of the classic, tasteful, and elegant styles that her parents and grandparents taught her to appreciate, mixed with the whimsical and edgy aspects of her own personality.

She was kind enough to send me a piece from her shop for review as well as offer a giveaway for one lucky reader!

IMG_0255I received the Black Stick Pearl Necklace, which I feel perfectly fits Ekatrina’s style – classy and edgy. She created this necklace by wrapping a black biwa pearl in gold-plated wire to create a pendant. It’s strung with a 16″ gold-plated chain (18″ chains are also available at no charge). I love that the chain has a 2-inch extendable closure – making the length work for all kinds of different necklines! This necklace is also available with a peach-colored biwa pearl, for a less edgy look.

Fun and Baubles is a great place to find beautiful, affordable items, whether they’re for yourself or for gifts. She even accepts custom orders! In addition to being a skilled jewelry-maker, she’s also incredibly nice and I highly recommend her shop if you’re looking for something truly unique. The mix of classic and fun jewelry at Fun and Baubles is perfect for the trendy jewelry-lover in your life!

  4. My favorite piece is the Little Bird Necklace. I always think of my grandmother when I see birds.. kind of like a sign from her. It’s beautiful.
