Our second installment to our Small Business Saturday Gift Guide is here! Last Saturday we featured Fun and Baubles, and this week we’re featuring Accessodium – another great Etsy shop with handmade and uniquely designed accessories and clothing.
Accessodium owner, Tanya Volkova, is originally from the Ukraine, but planted herself in Maryland with family. As a big part of her life, her family was always encouraging her to sell the items she made. Around a year ago, she made that dream a reality on Etsy. Now, she considers herself a “full-time business lady.”
She grew up around the art she now creates. When her grandmother used to knit, she’d watch and think how magical it was that the yarn could turn into such beauty. Tanya loved the way her grandmother’s motions were so natural. She strived to make her grandmother’s natural talent her own and for years has been devoting her time to creating yarnful masterpieces for friends and family. And now for all of you!
Today, her goal is to make her customers happy and beautiful. She focuses her products on the differences among people and makes her shop the reflection of this diversity. She hand-spins her yarn, creates patterns, and is determined to have anyone and everyone find something worthwhile in her shop.
Tanya was kind enough to send me a piece from her shop to review as well as offer up an item for a giveaway!
I received the Chunky Crochet Headband in Buttercream White / Women’s Earwarmer. You can’t tell from the photo, but it’s incredibly soft. The yarn is a wool acrylic blend, which makes necessary to hand wash (like many handmade items). You can see Tanya’s influence in the pattern – it’s elegant, but durable. I think it upholds her intention to reflect diversity in her products – it’s a unique piece.
It’s one size fits most and is great for winter. I absolutely adore how thick the yarn is and it doesn’t make it feel bulky, which I feel is important with something you put on your head. The headband is really thick, so if you have a smaller head like me, you may even mistake it for a hat! And that’s okay in my book.
Accessodium is a great place to find stylish, self-designed, and handmade clothing, accessories, baubles, and patterns. That’s right – she gives away her secrets for a small price! Speaking of price, her shop ranges from $3 patterns to $150 Alpaca Extra long scarves, so you’re guaranteed to find something great in any price range. If you know someone who loves to keep warm and fashionable in the winter – this is a great place to buy them a gift.
Now here’s your chance to win!
The item up for grabs is Accessodium’s Fingerless Gloves in Buttercream – a $27 value! These handmade gloves are made in the same thick stitch as the headband and are INCREDIBLY warm. I had them on for only a couple minutes to take photos…and my hands were toasty. They’re double practical for today’s glove consumer – perfect for winter wear AND cellphone use.
Enter to win these gloves using the link below (via Rafflecopter). The giveaway will end 11/15 at 11:59 PM (EST). The winner will be contacted by email and will have three days to claim their prize before another winner is chosen.
Here are some of my favorite items from her shop:
Best of luck to the folks who enter our giveaway and thank you (again) for supporting small businesses! And you guessed it – next week we’ll feature another great shop like Accessodium on our Small Business Saturday Gift Guide.
*I received a free product in exchange for this review, however all of my opinions are 100% honest.
