Review | Bulu Box (& Get 2 Free Boxes!)

ZS

We all know I’m a fan of subscription boxes, so I was excited to learn about Bulu Box and try one out! For anyone out there who has getting fit and healthy as a New Year’s resolution, this would be a great (and affordable) gift to yourself! I love the idea of using a subscription box service to help you stay motivated toward your long-term fitness goals!

What is Bulu Box?

Bulu Box is a subscription box that aims to help you discover health, nutrition, and weight loss products that are right for you! They offer two different styles of boxes – the original Bulu Box, which focuses on vitamins and supplements for general health and the occasional lifestyle item, and Bulu Box Weight Loss, which contains weight loss items such as vitamins, supplements, fitness gear, and healthy eating tools.

Bulu Box subscribers pay just $10 / month for their monthly box of goodies, or $110 for a year-long subscription. Their rewards system seems to be set up similarly to Birchbox, in that each month you are able to earn points for reviewing your items. The website says you can earn 50-100 points each month. For each 100 points earned, you get $10 to spend towards your favorite full-sized Bulu Box products.

The folks at Bulu Box were kind enough to send me one of their original boxes to review, as well as a special discount for our readers! See the bottom of this post for the deets!

Here’s a peek at everything I got in my Bulu Box. I received five samples and a lifestyle bonus. Plus, a special offer from Naked Wines.

The box also included a Holiday Gift Guide with special offers and a product card to walk you through each of the items in the box.

Here’s a closer look at each item I received.

IMG_0530AllergEase All Natural Herbal Supplement
These are lozenges that provide relief from seasonal allergies. It says that these are fast-acting and don’t have any side effects, so it won’t make you feel drowsy. I don’t have allergies, but it certainly doesn’t hurt to have this around for friends in need!

IMG_0525Supreme Protein Morning Protein Bar
(Chocolate Raspberry)
I like the sound of this: all natural sweeteners and flavors, gluten-free, 15g of protein, and less than 200 calories! I’ve never tried this brand before, but I’m a fan of chocolate raspberry so I’m sure I’ll like this!

Retail: $32.99 / 12 bars
Sample: $2.75 / 1 bar

IMG_0526NeoCell Biotin Bursts (Brazilian Acai Berry)
These are gluten, soy, palm oil, and artificial-free and claims to “deliver high potency beauty nutrients to improve hair, skin and nails, all in a delectable gourmet soft chew.” It tastes like Laffy Taffy to me, but much softer.

Retail: $21.59 / 30 count
Sample: $0.75 / 1 count

IMG_0527DSpeed Fast-Melt Vitamin D3 (Peach)
These are fast-dissolving tablets that you can put straight on your tongue for an extra boost of immune support. Each tablet has 250% of the daily value of vitamin D3. This is also gluten, soy, dairy, and preservative-free.

IMG_0528Brode Electrolyte Vitamins
The package says it’s “the first hydration vitamin,” which I find pretty interesting! It has no sugar or caffeine – it’s just an electrolyte supplement to aid hydration. It says that it’s perfect for preventing hangovers, so I guess I know how I’ll be testing it.

Retail: $24.97 / 10 Packets
Sample: $2.50 / 1 Packet

naked$100 Wine Voucher to NakedWines.com
Speaking of hangovers, right?! Anyway, to be perfectly honest with you, I’d normally be so, so excited about this. But, unfortunately, between the holidays and travel plans, I can’t really afford to spend any more money than I already do on wine. (You must put this toward an order of at least $160, but it includes delivery, which is nice.) So, if you want this, the first to comment with their email owns it.

IMG_0524Waxlene Lip Tube
Yay! I was so glad to receive this, as I’ve always wanted to try Waxlene. It’s an all natural petroleum jelly alternative and I know I’ll be putting it to good use since I’m about to go to Maine for Christmas. Talk about DRY and chapped lips.

Retail: $12 / 3 tubes
Sample: $4 / 1 tube

I’ve gotta say, I’m pretty impressed with this box. I do wish that the supplements came in larger quantities, as I’m not sure I’d be able to make up my mind on whether or not to purchase something after just one or two tries. But, otherwise, I’m a happy camper. All in all, this box is worth $21 ($121 if you count the wine voucher) for a $10 price tag.

Interested in getting the Bulu Box for yourself or a loved one? Well, you’re in luck because they’re offering a special deal to our readers! If you use the code AMAZING at checkout [expires 1/31/2015], you can get a 3-month subscription for $10! That’s 2 free months, my friends! A pretty awesome deal, if you ask me.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

  1. If you haven’t given it away yet, I’d love to pass the wine voucher along to my dad. He can definitely put it to good use. 🙂 My email is alh2027 AT gmail DOT com. Thanks!
